NAME WORKSHOP

Shape the identity

Start with a tradition and a temperament. Each candidate has four separate name forms. All generation runs in your browser.

Your first introduction
Identity, reputation & story
Sound & spelling constraints
Batch size & repeatable seed

Identical settings and seed reproduce the batch. Restrictive filters can return fewer names; duplicates are never added to fill a batch.

Your candidates

Will readers confuse these names?

A name works in company, not only on its own. Compare the generated candidates with the people, places or objects already in your project. This local check flags shared spellings, three-letter openings and one-letter differences; it does not infer pronunciation or search the internet. Your reference list stays in this tab and is not added to saved names or exports.

Seed Vault Relic: roots & naming customs

All root meanings and naming customs below are invented creative associations, not translations or claims of historical authenticity.

A preservation name must not promise that every stored seed remains viable.

Three naming approaches for seed vault relic

These are reproducible outputs from this workshop, shown before you change any settings. Compare what belongs in everyday speech, a public record, or an older ceremonial identity. Each example lists the exact community, era, temperament, standing and seed that produced it. Try a preset to inspect its other candidates; these examples are fictional constructions rather than historical attestations.

      An everyday introduction

      Keepers in daily use: germination
Wild frontier · Reflective · Established
      Seed: field-notes-1
Core length: Short (up to 6 letters)

      Vaula
Formal: Seed Vault Relic of Vaula
      Alias: Open Vault
      Maker / house: Vaulford
Vaula uses root contraction: vau + l + a. Vaultrel → vault. Handling names clip a material or action root; collector names pair that root with provenance; archive forms reverse the pair. A practical root and an easily repeated ending suit a traveling community. Adjacent identical boundary letters are merged. The mixed ending is a fictional style, not a statement about the bearer's gender.
      A public record

      Traveling collectors: vault
Civic · Resolute · Office holder
      Seed: field-notes-2
      Core length: Long (7+ letters)

      Husken
Formal: Registered Seed Vault Relic of Huskegermen
      Alias: Open Husk
      Maker / house: Vaulian
Huskegermen uses linked two-root compound: husk + e + germe + n. Huskren → husk; Germel → germination. Handling names clip a material or action root; collector names pair that root with provenance; archive forms reverse the pair. A compact root with a register-like ending suits a fictional civic record. Adjacent identical boundary letters are merged. The mixed ending is a fictional style, not a statement about the bearer's gender.
      An older ceremonial identity

      Provenance archivists: husk
      Mythic · Guarded · Veteran
      Seed: field-notes-3
      Core length: Long (7+ letters)

      Vaulen
Formal: Ancient Seed Vault Relic of Vaultegermsen
      Alias: Open Vault
      Maker / house: Huskwright
Vaultegermsen uses reversed two-root ceremonial compound: vault + e + germ + s + en. Vaultrel → vault; Germel → germination. Handling names clip a material or action root; collector names pair that root with provenance; archive forms reverse the pair. Open vowels and extended endings suit a remembered oral tradition. Adjacent identical boundary letters are merged. The mixed ending is a fictional style, not a statement about the bearer's gender.

A preservation name must not promise that every stored seed remains viable.

Everyday speech, formal records and earned aliases have different jobs. Select a naming community to change root order and construction; choose a world texture to change the register ending. A family or lineage remains separate from an optional public alias.

Living Return: a withdrawal must leave a viable successor

The vault has provision for a bounded withdrawal-and-living-return cycle. Change the assumptions to see where this stops being true.

      Scenario quantities
      Decisions that alter the calculation
Stress tests, sensitivity, and feasible plans
Decisions the feasible-plan search may change

The search keeps other quantities fixed, tests only permitted decisions, and shows the quantity it changes. A feasible plan satisfies this model; it is not an overall judgment about the story.

A transparent fictional planning model. Its factors are editable story assumptions, not measured forecasts or professional advice. The run is also included in the name dossiers above.

The container that asks for a living return

Lorafeed · Original fiction and workshop notes · November 2, 2026

      What completes preservation?

The vault opens only when its last withdrawal has been replaced by a living descendant. Its keeper has preserved every seed but forgotten how to grow them.

Choose the growing method when security must include life beyond the container. The apprenticeship gives the keeper a future task. A relic-name can celebrate renewal without implying that a locked inventory is sufficient preservation.

A vault name can make renewal part of security. Seed implies a future outside the container. Give the artifact an ordinary use before introducing the exceptional enchantment.

Security includes knowledge outside the lock

The keeper has preserved seeds while the growing method has faded. Give the vault a record of old conditions and the farmers a practice that does not fit neatly into it. A formal relic-name can celebrate continuity without implying that locked storage is the only responsible form. The everyday designation should make sense when a grower asks for an accession and promises to return a documented descendant. The obligation belongs to a relationship, not only a mechanism.

A cycle uses material and time

The renewal model compares tending provision with withdrawal scope, missing notes, and the growing interval. A whole rare lineage requires more than one verified tray. These are fictional magic and work units, not propagation advice. A failed result should produce a smaller first cycle or an apprenticeship rather than a command to plant immediately because growth is symbolically desirable. Preserving the source matters while the method is being recovered.

Record what the keeper learns from the growers

An earned returned-seed name can include the farming community's contribution. The keeper may need to change a rule whose wording previously seemed flawless. Let a later accession remain stored because its conditions differ; a context-specific limit is evidence the new practice has substance. The vault then becomes a powerful institution in miniature: it keeps a traceable chain of material and knowledge without claiming that either possession or release automatically settles every future decision.

Living Return: a withdrawal must leave a viable successor

      Withdrawal scope
One verified tray · Shared nursery batch · Whole rare lineage
      Growing support
Experienced growers · Ordinary apprenticeship · Unfamiliar conditions
      Record upkeep
Complete provenance · Partial method · Lost growing notes

The keeper must apprentice to the farmers whose work the vault was designed to support.
