NAME WORKSHOP

Shape the identity

Start with a tradition and a temperament. Each candidate has four separate name forms. All generation runs in your browser.

Your first introduction
Identity, reputation & story
Sound & spelling constraints
Batch size & repeatable seed

Identical settings and seed reproduce the batch. Restrictive filters can return fewer names; duplicates are never added to fill a batch.

Your candidates

Will readers confuse these names?

A name works in company, not only on its own. Compare the generated candidates with the people, places or objects already in your project. This local check flags shared spellings, three-letter openings and one-letter differences; it does not infer pronunciation or search the internet. Your reference list stays in this tab and is not added to saved names or exports.

      THE LANGUAGE OF THIS WORKSHOP

Unwritten Book: roots & naming customs

All root meanings and naming customs below are invented creative associations, not translations or claims of historical authenticity.

An unwritten name need not mean the book lacks a history of previous readers.

Three naming approaches for unwritten book

These are reproducible outputs from this workshop, shown before you change any settings. Compare what belongs in everyday speech, a public record, or an older ceremonial identity. Each example lists the exact community, era, temperament, standing and seed that produced it. Try a preset to inspect its other candidates; these examples are fictional constructions rather than historical attestations.

      An everyday introduction

Keepers in daily use: blank leaf
Wild frontier · Reflective · Established
      Seed: field-notes-1
Core length: Short (up to 6 letters)

      Unsao
      Formal: Unwritten Book of Unsao
      Alias: Dawn Unspoken word
      Maker / house: Blanford
Unsao uses root contraction: uns + a + o. Unsaid → unspoken word. Handling names clip a material or action root; collector names pair that root with provenance; archive forms reverse the pair. A practical root and an easily repeated ending suit a traveling community. Adjacent identical boundary letters are merged. The mixed ending is a fictional style, not a statement about the bearer's gender.
      A public record

      Traveling collectors: binding
Civic · Resolute · Office holder
      Seed: field-notes-2
      Core length: Long (7+ letters)

      Unsaka
Formal: Registered Unwritten Book of Unsaeblanka
      Alias: Dawn Unspoken word
      Maker / house: Bindian
Unsaeblanka uses linked two-root compound: unsa + e + blank + a. Unsaid → unspoken word; Blankrel → blank leaf. Handling names clip a material or action root; collector names pair that root with provenance; archive forms reverse the pair. A compact root with a register-like ending suits a fictional civic record. Adjacent identical boundary letters are merged. The mixed ending is a fictional style, not a statement about the bearer's gender.
      An older ceremonial identity

      Provenance archivists: unspoken word
      Mythic · Guarded · Veteran
      Seed: field-notes-3
      Core length: Long (7+ letters)

      Bindia
Formal: Ancient Unwritten Book of Bindeunsasia
      Alias: Open Binding
      Maker / house: Unsawright
Bindeunsasia uses reversed two-root ceremonial compound: binde + unsa + s + ia. Bindel → binding; Unsaid → unspoken word. Handling names clip a material or action root; collector names pair that root with provenance; archive forms reverse the pair. Open vowels and extended endings suit a remembered oral tradition. Adjacent identical boundary letters are merged. The mixed ending is a fictional style, not a statement about the bearer's gender.

An unwritten name need not mean the book lacks a history of previous readers.

Everyday speech, formal records and earned aliases have different jobs. Select a naming community to change root order and construction; choose a world texture to change the register ending. A family or lineage remains separate from an optional public alias.

      Unwritten Book · INTERACTIVE SCENARIO

Pages of Questions: inquiry before the next revelation

The inquiry can proceed within the chosen reading period without pretending the questions are answers. Change the assumptions to see where this stops being true.

      Scenario quantities
      Decisions that alter the calculation
Stress tests, sensitivity, and feasible plans
Decisions the feasible-plan search may change

The search keeps other quantities fixed, tests only permitted decisions, and shows the quantity it changes. A feasible plan satisfies this model; it is not an overall judgment about the story.

A transparent fictional planning model. Its factors are editable story assumptions, not measured forecasts or professional advice. The run is also included in the name dossiers above.

The first complete page contains questions

Lorafeed · Original fiction and workshop notes · November 2, 2026

      What opens the next page?

The book fills only when its owner admits something they do not know. Its first complete page is a list of questions rather than a revelation.

Use the list of questions to make the first completed page a beginning rather than a final answer. Choose admitted uncertainty when learning itself activates the object. A book-title can promise a method without claiming omniscience.

A book's name can promise an inquiry instead of omniscience. Blankness is a working condition, not automatic mystery. Give the artifact a reproducible rule so its role in a scene can be understood.

      Blankness is a working condition

The book fills when the reader admits a gap, but that should not make a ritual phrase sufficient. Give the admission an action: checking a source, asking a person, or abandoning a convenient premise. The title can describe an inquiry instead of promising the world's final answer. A modest everyday name makes the object usable on a crowded desk. The formal name may belong to a legend whose author misunderstood why earlier owners kept returning to it.

Broad questions have a larger reading load

The inquiry model separates scope, supported progress, and interrupted access to records or witnesses. Investigating a whole inherited theory takes more turns than one admitted gap. The fictional units do not rate intelligence. A missed window can lead to an unfinished chapter whose limits are named. The book's magic should not remove the practical work of inquiry merely because the owner has finally expressed an emotion the narrator considers sufficiently honest.

Another reader may ask a better next question

Let the student's contribution become part of the record with its source visible. An earned open-page designation can refer to a practice that continues beyond the first revelation. The teacher may disagree with a later question without being exposed as a fraud. The next page should remain genuinely open to the story's discoveries. An artifact becomes less interchangeable when it supports a particular method of learning instead of serving as an unlimited answer source with an elaborate lock attached.

Pages of Questions: inquiry before the next revelation

      Inquiry scope
One admitted gap · Linked assumptions · Whole inherited theory
      Method
Solitary speculation · Checked examples · Joint investigation
      Interrupted reading
Quiet desk · Archive unavailable · Essential witness absent

A student writes the longest chapter by asking the teacher where the first answer came from.
